Euronda obtains ISO 14001 certification

ISO 14001: Euronda - eco-friendly certified

We have obtained the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System Certification

Euronda – increasingly sustainable: our company has obtained the ISO 14001 Certification. This is an important milestone recognising and formalising our focus on the environment and sustainability. A course of action, which, for some time now, has seen us involved in the progressive and constant improvement of products and processes, coupled with our desire to provide our customers and distribution partners with superior guarantees of quality, responsibility as well as the proper environmental management of production activities.

For several years, now, we have been committed to reducing the environmental impact of our products by choosing, among other things, phthalate-free PVC, paper and packaging from sustainable supply chains or from upcycling, as is the case with our Natura line, in addition to only using renewably-sourced electricity for our head office and for our main production and logistics site. For us, this environmental certification is an addition to the plethora of certifications already obtained. It is the means by which we pursue a model of corporate development that aims to be increasingly responsible and sustainable.

The ISO 14001 Standard

The ISO 14001 is an international standard establishing the requirements for an environmental management system. For Euronda, this represents not only the certification of a course of action, but also an incentive to further improve our environmental performance over the coming years.

To understand the importance of the ISO 14001, it would be worthwhile summarising its main implications for the company:

  • The definition of an environmental policy aligned with the nature, scale and environmental impact of the company’s activities, products and services;
  • The identification of products and processes with the greatest environmental impact;
  • The implementation of effective control systems to comply with all environmental regulations and requirements for our products and processes;
  • The definition of measurable environmental objectives;
  • The implementation of procedures for in-house environmental training and communication.

Achieving the certification officially attests to the company’s commitment to protecting the environment as well as its future commitment to this same goal. The implementation of an Environmental Management System in fact represents the desire to become familiar with and improve our impact in terms of resources and processes so that we can define and apply useful strategies to increasingly improve our environmental sustainability and deliver a positive outcome for all our stakeholders.

From sustainability to protection: it's all about protection

In every business decision, at every level, Euronda is guided by its mission: it’s all about protection. With this in mind, we can tackle the challenge of sustainability in the full knowledge that protecting people, devices and working environments begins with product design, continues with product manufacturing right up to product storage and distribution. Thus, only when in actual use, can we truly talk about “protection”. The certification we have just achieved as well as the Company Management System should be interpreted and understood within this framework.

It is important to reiterate that Euronda had previously obtained not only the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certification, a quality management standard for delivering customer satisfaction through products and services, as well as a focus on continuously improved company performance, but also obtained the UNI EN ISO 13485:2016 which regulates quality management systems in the medical device sector. Added to this, there is the MDR certification for all of Euronda’s Medical Devices; testament to the increased safety of its products and its improved transparency with its customers and distribution partners.

Achieving the ISO 14001 therefore defines an increasingly thorough and well-structured Company Management System that places economic, social and environmental sustainability at the core of its actions, reinforcing and guaranteeing the wider concept of ‘protection’ which we have pursued for almost 50 years.
